april fools! this is italy, so of course they are feeding me VERY well. not to mention, this is clearly not even a real fish.
and now i imagine you are thinking "so, then, what is it?" it's a pesca de abrile, of course! "pesca de abrile" translates to "fish of april," which is the italian equivalent of april fools. on april first the girls sneakily tied this fish to the tag of their father's sweater just before lunch, and then let him find it by asking if he could touch the center of his back. another "pesca de abrile" was found in a fake birthday present ophelia gave to her friend at her birthday party that night (while a real present was waiting in ophelia's bag).
all in all, i was just happy to see that a day full of pranks exists here, as well. how was your april fools day?
